Santa Fe County Extension Homemakers
The Extension Association of New Mexico was formed in 1941, as Extension Homemakers, in cooperation with the Extension Service at New Mexico State University. EANM helps extend adult education throughout New Mexico.
MISSION: The mission of the Extension Association of New Mexico is to strengthen individuals, families and communities through education, leadership, and action.
The Santa Fe County Extension Homemakers (EANM - Extension Association of New Mexico) are based in Santa Fe, NM. We are a community service based organization participating in projects that assist in improving lives of others. Members receive monthly research-based educational programs relating to money management, clothing, family development, food and nutrition, diabetes education and community development. (Topics are subject to change).
We participate in community services such as:
- Sewing fidget quilts for the nursing homes.
- Snacks, sleeping bags, cool collars , and school supplies for the Youth Shelter
- Money, clothing, cool collars, and hygiene packets for Pete’s Place Homeless Shelter.
- Volunteer hours and monetary help to churches and other community organizations.
- Volunteer for the Santa Fe County Fair.
- Creating Christmas Stockings for newborns at Christus St. Vincent Hospital.
Our Holiday Craft Fair is held every November. It is our main fund raiser for scholarships for Santa Fe County students to attend New Mexico colleges and universities.
EANM meets the first and third Wednesday of each month, except August. If you are interested in joining, please call Barbara Forte (505) 982-5195 or Michelle Stizza (505) 471-4711.
